A Fortune 500 global information and insights company specializing in credit reporting, risk management, and identity verification, our customer serves large financial institutions, insurers, retailers, and healthcare providers. Their business relies on secure, compliant, high-speed file transfers, exchanging millions of confidential, personally identifiable information records, marketing insights, and credit reports daily with over 4,000 partners and customers.
The Challenge
The company relied heavily on customized commercial file transfer tools that struggled with:
- Increasing volume of sensitive data exchanges, rising number of users, and configuration issues leading to highly manual processes and poor user experience.
- Extensively customized software and use cases, and a disjointed security framework render it insecure and vulnerable to threats.

The Solution
Recognizing that existing technologies were unsuitable for scale and compliance, the customer selected Softility’s revolutionary, fast, scalable, vendor-neutral, cloud-based open-source MFT platform that provides enhanced security, seamless user experience, and built-in compliance. This unique system is projected to reduce file-sharing software costs from the current $4 million per annum to just $1 million.
As part of the initial implementation, Softility helped the customer enhance security and user experience with the innovative MFT solution featuring a single, scalable, user-friendly UI with a custom authentication layer, enabling automated user sign-in and multi-factor authentication, file detection, scanning, sanitization, encryption, and compliance checks to guarantee efficient, uninterrupted data exchange in real-time.
In addition, we centralized all file transfer tools, managed migration from legacy tools, re-engineered routing workflows, and enabled seamless integrations with core partner networks, SIEM systems, and disaster recovery; and implemented controlled checks-and-balance capabilities to ensure data privacy on multi-cloud environments.
We implemented a vendor and cloud-agnostic, cost-effective ZTA framework to support 17,000+ user logins, replacing manual processes and handling large volumes of files efficiently, to ensure secured consolidation, governance, auditing, tracking, and monitoring. Additionally, Softility’s MFT solution offers analytics functionality and insightful dashboards, enabling users to focus on strategic decisions and innovative initiatives.
